para_AnxietyFree_ipodYou may have already read my post on a marvelous book called “How to stop worrying and start living” by Dale Carnegie. In it is described how to overcome your fears by looking at the worst possible outcome, accepting it as a possibility and looking at even it would happen if that would open up other opportunities events for you. After accepting the possibility of the worst case scenario, you no longer need to worry about it. You already know what ‘can’ happen. This gives you a clear mind – the tool you need to start looking at the opportunities and solutions instead of the problems.

Now, if your worries or anxieties are sending you at times in a state of shock or if you need some extra help, you might want to check out paraliminals. Paraliminals are a tool created by Paul R. Scheele of Learning Strategies in Minnesota. If the name sounds familiar, it might be because he has spent his career on helping people develop and reach their fullest potential, on of the techniques being speed reading, which I will devote an article to later. Getting back to Paraliminals though…

Break through the barriers that are holding you back

What are paraliminals? “Para” means “beyond”, “liminal” means “threshold”. In other words… breaking through barriers. In his set of paraliminal CD’s (almost 30 to date) he first gives you information on what is going to happen and how you will benefit from it. After this short introduction, you are guided into a relaxed state and then the paraliminal starts. In both ears you will hear a voice, saying different sentences that are optimized for each side of the brain. Sometimes even a third or fourth voice blends in or the voices move from left to right. At times the voice in one ear starts a sentence that is followed up by the voice in the right ear. All of this has as its aim to bring about a synchronization of the brain and create an optimal state where you use the sum of both halves.

You may even find yourself dozing off, but this is not a problem as first you are asked to set your goal or gain that you want to achieve from this session. At the end of the session, you are guided back out of it with a 5 to 1 countdown, soft empowering music and feeling great!

I am using it each day to increase the effectiveness of my daily affirmations and to keep focused on my goals. It works like a charm! If you have ever heard of Bill Harris (one of the teachers in the movie “The Secret”) then you may be familiar with Holosync. If you are, then you will be pleased to know that all of Scheele’s Paraliminals include the HoloSync technique as well, which automatically puts your mind in an optimally receptive state.

If you want to find out more about Paraliminals, visit Paul Scheele’s Learning Strategies website.

Enjoy the session and feel relaxed, yet full of energy to make your dreams come true!
