what is wrong with me that I don't achieve my goals?I just noticed a habbit that has kept me back from achieving some of my goals. If you see yourself in what I describe, you may have found a reason that is holding you back from achieving your goals.

Earlier this year I have made my goals lists. I’ve been working on them pretty deligently and am overall happy with the results. On some aspects however, I felt overwhelmed with the things I have to do to make my goal come true… until I found out what I did wrong…

Yes. It was almost natural. Whenever I was making progress towards a goal by learning something new, I did something that actually pushed my goal further away from me. I KEPT MOVING THE GOAL POSTS! I thought by myself “Oh, this is easy, instead I’ll do this then” and increased my objectives a few notches. This kept my goal in the distance, sometimes almost impossible to obtain. I’m not saying that it’s a bad thing to reach ever higher when done, AFTER ACHIEVING YOUR FIRST OBJECTIVE.

You probably are familiar with the phrase “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. It’s the same with our goals and our motivation. We need rewards, we need appreciation and while we may get that from people around us, … most often we don’t give enough credit to ourselves. Take some time whenever you have achieved your goal or even when you have made a small but a significant steps towards achieving it, to feel great, to put the phone off the hook, cherish the moment and say “See, I can do this, all is going great, … this is one of many victories to come”.

When we start to live each day and celebrate our victories, we will achieve and exceed our goals ever faster and… you’ll have a lot of good memories and happy thoughts to reflect upon.

Live well,
Chris
