If you have been using Bob Proctor’sParadigm Shift” program, you may have ended up with 3 or more pages of affirmations (Your B-list). Here are some tips on how to make your list work better for you.

The first 90-day list

SelfTalkAffirmations_FullSince I was eager to start with the program, I spent the first 3-4 days, writing out (in much detail) how my life was and how I wanted it to be. I have always considered myself quite a happy person but was astonished by all the things I wanted to improve in my life. I ended up with nearly 4 pages (A4 size) of affirmations, leaving a one line space after each affirmations for easy readability.

The first thing I thought was: “How can I ever remember all of them”. Actually, it turned out to be quite easy… but before you set off on your quest of changing your life, here are some of the things I have learned over the last couple of months:

  1. Start with the ‘more easy objectives’. Don’t start within the first 10 lines with how many 100,000′s or millions of currency you want to be worth as you will cause a lot of stress in your body as soon as you pick up your sheet of paper. Start off with the small improvements in your character that you want to make and some less desirable habits that you want to break….
  2. Always make sure to write your affirmations in a positive way. Refrain from using ‘not, no, want, hope, will‘ …
  3. Write it in the present tense. If you have trouble believing it, I have a solution but I’ll come back to this in a later post.
  4. Group your affirmations together. Affirmations about health go together, other ones about money go together, … you get the idea.
  5. Within each group of affirmations rearrange the order so that they flow in to each other. This will make them more easy to remember.
For example… If you want to be able to sleep better at night, be more relaxed during the day, be able to focus well and to be energetic each day, you can start by saying:

    • “I am always calm and relaxed”.
    • “I sleep deeply and wake up refreshed and full of energy”.
  6. See about how you can link groups together. If you have a group called ‘work’ and a group called ‘lifestyle’ … you can bridge it by writing: “My job provides me with joy and opportunity to live a full and balanced life with ample time and opportunity to make all my dreams come true.” Later affirmations can then go in more detail about describing how you will spend your time with loved ones.
  7. Keep the most difficult, most ambitious goals for last. If you write your list well, you will build up ‘confidence’ during your list. Going from small to big changes, you will see that in fact everything you have written before helps to carry your big ‘change’. This will make it more manageable.
  8. Read your list a few more times and edit where needed. See if you can make it more powerful by adding words, removing words or sentences that have already been covered in another group.
  9. KEEP YOUR LIST AS IT IS for the first 90 days, unless you detect some huge errors that are holding you back. This is very important. The moment you start, you have committed yourself to working with this list, so keep it. If you really need to make some changes, start back from day 1 for another 90 days.

Enjoy taking control of your life,
Chris
